How to calculate GST in China?

The calculation of GST (Goods and Services tax) in China involves multiplying the taxable sales amount by the applicable GST rate. The standard GST rate in China is 13%, but there are also reduced rates of 9% and 6% for specific goods and services.

Formula to calculate GST in China:

  • GST Amount = Taxable Sales * (GST Rate / 100​)

Total invoice amount, including GST, is then calculated as:

  • Total Invoice Amount=Taxable Sales + GST Amount

For example, if you’ve a taxable sale of 10,000 RMB and the applicable GST rate is 13%:

  • GST Amount = 10,000 * ( 13 / 100  )= 1,300 RMB
  • Total Invoice Amount= 10,000 + 1,300 = 11,300 RMB

  • If your turnover is CNY5,000 to CNY20,000 per month.
